Long Term Egg Storage Without Refrigeration By Steven Harris

The following video from Steven Harris gives you a tremendous amount of information on how to store eggs for 1-2 years (!) without any refrigeration. Harris goes to a local store and shows you how to get everything you need, down to the specifics.

He then goes home and shows you over-the-shoulder how to store your eggs properly so that they stay safe & edible months later.

Below is the transcript from the above video in case you prefer to read the information instead of listen to it:

While we’re talking about food storage and food preparation, there is one absolutely high quality food that gives you so much protein tastes so good and makes everything so much better. That eggs with you making, you want to make a cake with your flour and your food storage and everything else. The eggs make it more rich so does milk. So those butter and we talked about those things later. But eggs make that better. You want to have eggs for breakfast, you want to have scrambled eggs, poached eggs, fried eggs, whatever you want to do. However you wanna, you want to make like a protein shake in your blender, whatever you want to deal with eggs, eggs add a great deal quality. The problem is typical Americans don’t store eggs without refrigeration and they think they have to refrigeration. I have a time proven method for the storage of eggs are between one and two years 100% valid storage after a year about the lose about 20% of them at two years. This has been taught by me and us around the world. And I released it and taught you about it in United States. No, it’s not salt. No, it’s not ashes. No, it’s not. It is a specific type of lime. And there are lots of types of lime. And I go into the masonary area of the store. Yeah, you buy it in the masonary area with like the cement. And I show you no not this one. No, not this one. No, not this one. Yes, this one, only this one that says this that is called this name, or this name. There’s two names for it. Here’s how you can check the ingredients on it to know you’re getting exactly the right one. I go to the garden center go now now. No, no, I show you specifically what type it is. I mean, it’s like eight bucks or 40 pounds of it, which is going to be enough for you to do about. I think I calculated 3400 eggs. And yes, you can get today you to use it. If you search it on the internet, you’re going to find these people on YouTube. They say one thing, right? And then they give you every piece of glittering stupidity and myth that goes along with it. And that is completely wrong. Literally they are vomiting myths and lies out of their mouth to you thinking that it’s real and it’s not. I am the only one that I have ever seen on YouTube on any media on anything written printed or discus. That tells you exactly what is the right stuff to get and why. Why does this one particular type of lime work for the egg preservation and do not get into this blathering stupidity about? Oh you gotta use you know, you got to leave the chicken shit on the eggs you don’t? Okay, I get into why that is a blistering stupid. Why? Crap? Okay, I don’t care what you said what you’ve done. I explain it in detail. You go. Oh, that makes so much sense. So trust me, there’s hardly a hierarchy I got 180 eggs for lovin and 12 and $13. Before the pandemic started, they went up to a high of 1819 20 for 180 large eggs and now they went back down to like 1314 12 hours. So it doesn’t matter if they are store bought eggs. It doesn’t matter does not matter if they are store bought eggs get that stupidity through your head. They do not have to be farm fresh eggs, okay? They do not have to be unwashed. These can be any eggs. It works with goose eggs works with duck eggs that works with chicken eggs. Okay? The chemistry of the shell of the egg is the same no matter what it came out if you squatted down and and you know, made an egg. It would work. It works on ostrich eggs. I’m sorry for being so direct, but the amount of stupidity regarding the subject rather than the legitimate chemistry that I go give me your hand. Let me explain it to you. And you go, Holy cow. Now I understand it’s like your eyes have been opened and it’s like, that’s why we’re in it. Everyone doesn’t believe me. They go wild want to try this. And they’ll take eggs that were stored for six months and they’ll take fresh eggs and they’ll make you know, two things will make three things a scrambled eggs with one set of eggs and three set with the stored and they’ll give them to the people and they’ll try to eat them. It’s like they can’t tell the difference. And they’ll guess wrong and they’ll guess right but basically they’re all guessing wrong because they’re just guessing. They don’t know they can’t tell the difference between the eggs that have been properly stored in the right type of the lime solution, versus the ones that are fresh out of the refrigerator, the store or wherever you got them. So one of the highest quality foods you are going to get, that’s the most rich energy dense and expensive, makes people happy is going to be exile. I mean, you can I show you in my other food storage video, you know, how to have bacon and everything else. It’s like, you’re three months into a tour a disaster, you say? What do you want? Do you want bacon and eggs and pancakes for breakfast that’s like, everyone’s gonna be going, you’re having eggs and bacon and pancakes for breakfast? Yeah, we’re out of cream. But I got some really good powdered milk that you can’t tell the difference. So that’s what you get from Harris, really. And you will end up testing this. This is something I’ve done for over a decade I’ve taught it around the world. That’s a story in itself. Also, I show you how to put the eggs, you can put them a different size containers, I’m using a five gallon pail, you can use a two and a half, you can use bigger, smaller, you can use so it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter if it’s open or closed either, really. But I also show you how to travel with them. Because you want to put the eggs into a certain type of container hint not paper, when you put it into the lime solution for traveling, and then the eggs don’t break if you can put 180 eggs into a five gallon bucket and also show you what you don’t want to do with the top site do you want your eggs exposed or not exposed as little bit fine or not i i teach you I show you I tell you but I show you how you can put eggs into different types of containers and then transport them with you so they don’t break because 180 eggs in a five gallon bucket. You can move it around the house carefully. And if you break an egg, it’s like no big deal. we’ve cracked eggs and they’re you know, they’re actually seals the crack. The egg breaks bad enough it leaks into the solution that’s like it’s no big deal the solution takes care of it. And once you hear me explain to you what the solution really is the line type of solution, the chemistry of it and everything you’re gonna go Oh, that makes so much sense. So anyways, get the egg video certainly is not a good enough price and you and everyone else eaten eggs during this. Even if you’re like selling eggs, you’re a farmer and you’re selling chicken eggs and duck eggs and goose eggs. This is a great way for you to store your eggs without refrigeration until the customer comes and picks them up into three days a week. This is how you can roll over your surplus to when your birds are molting and everything and everyone’s just gonna say that you got the greatest eggs and everything and you don’t have to have a separate refrigerator in the garage going and everything. Yeah, you’ll absolutely love it. Trust me. It’s typical HARRIS I explain everything and more than you could possibly want to know
